Norwegian culture and values – training course for asylum seekers

Skills Norway has been commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security to develop the content and PowerPoint presentations to be used in the 50-hour training course 'Norwegian culture and values'.

The 'Norwegian culture and values' course encompasses nine topics of a varying scope.

The basis for all the topics is communication of individual rights and obligations as defined by Norwegian law. The training should emphasise the individual's relationship to the society and interpersonal relations and interaction.

The training should be provided in a language that the participant understands. The teacher is free to decide the order in which to present the topics, but the first topic, 'Day-to-day life and social interaction', should be presented first.

All of the PowerPoint presentations are available in Arabic, Tigrinya and English.
